Manic Media Consumption.
I am always on the lookout for new media, be it books, music, movies, whatever. Somehow, the last few months have been a regular mediastorm I've picked up a whole stack of new books, stumbled over some great new bands, and, as the great and almighty Jish has recently done, I now post my summer movie consumption. This ain't gonna be pretty.
Seen:
- X2 (X-Men 2)
- Matrix Reloaded
- Hulk
- The Italian Job
- Finding Nemo
- Alex and Emma
- T3: Rise of the Machines
- Pirates of the Caribbean
- Charlie's Angels 2
- Lara Croft: Tomb Raider 2: Yadda Yadda Yadda
- The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen
- L'Auberge Espagnole
To Be Seen:
- Bad Boys II
- Dirty Pretty Things
- S.W.A.T.
And ya know, not too many on the 'seen' list are really making onto my 'gotta own' list. More proof positive that I need to either look into more foreign and indie flicks or start making my own, dagnabbit.
What? No Seabiscuit on that list, Geoff? What kind of Kenyon alum _are_ you? Though I'm told they completely changed the book (don't they always?), I actually thought the movie was pretty good.
Hey, Laura! Yeah, yeah, I know -- my mom gave me crap about that too. I dunno -- I like Tobey Maguire, and there's the whole Kenyon thing, but something in me just doesn't care. Maybe it's because I grew up with a pony that was basically a lazy four-legged lawn mower that wouldn't let you ride her. :)
Ha! Misty may have more sense than anyone else from here. At least she comes when you call her. You might mention that she too beat the odds, and that a number of otherwise law-abiding people took some sizable risks to make sure that she could remain here in comfort after she narrowly avoided being put down by her first owners. She's a darn good lawnmower, too, which we appreciate. She's at least 26, and we hope she lives forever. As your father says, she's the best darn dog we ever had!
