In a New York Times Q&A with Jonathan Safran Foer, the young novelist tosses in this one-sentence bit of real wisdom:
I've tried to write the book I would want to read, rather than the book I would want to write.I think that's a fantastic and critical insight that young writers often overlook. My respect for the man just ratcheted up a couple of notches.
