Links list: 01-23-07.
Again, time to close some tabs here's what I've been reading this morning.
- Optimus Prime iPod Dock. Autobots, transform and rock out.
- DS Daily: The New Book? Interesting observation, this.
- Endicott Studio: The Art of Pat Lillich. Nifty, creepy sculptures reminiscent of Froud.
- Wired: Strange DIY Film Hits Sundance. We Are The Strange is a sort of Brothers Quay-style truly indie film distributed via YouTube. Filmmaker: "[These filmmakers] can do anything, something new and different, but they all take the same path. It's minor-league Hollywood."
- We Are The Strange filmmaker's blog.
- The Cost of Producing Manga. Mmmm, tasty data.
- Smashing Telly. "Smashing Telly is a hand edited collection of the best free, instantly available TV on the web. Not 30 second clips of a dog on a skateboard, or the millionth person to mime the Numa song, but full length programs." Excellent.
- Chax. All iChat users should have this installed.
- Giant Robot. Things to see in New York.
- NYT on 'magical rituals'.
- Sci-Fi Wire: new Jim Butcher book written on a bet. Nice insight into the creative process. Or something.
- The Guardian: Zadie Smith on literature's legacy of honorable failure. Ditto.
- SPX 2007 dates announced: Oct. 12th and 13th. I don't suppose there's a chance in hell that I could have something ready to exhibit by then... $150 isn't a big investment for a half-table, after all and Jeff Smith will be there!
