The Black Sea Trading Company

The challenge

A friend of mine recently started up a small business importing Bulgarian wine. He needed an elegant, refined online presence to make his small company feel rather palatial.

The solution

The resulting website was only a few pages deep, but was a study in subtle. Instead of a flat background, we used a very faint texture, and we added a slight swoop curving along the top with a faint drop shadow. Then we created a cross-fading Flash animation of the artwork the company will be using on their wine bottles. Finally, we used an elegant script font for all of the head text. The end result is a small, beautiful site perfectly suited to a small, high-end, boutique import business.

The tools

Blackseacompany.com was built using HTML, JavaScript, CSS, Adobe Photoshop and Macromedia Flash.
