The Virtual Book TourThe challenge
My friend Kevin Smokler is the founder of the Virtual Book Tour, which sends authors on a weeklong "tour" of popular weblogs. The concept was garnering more and more attention from high-profile publications such as wired.com, but Kevin didn't have a website for the project. That's where I came in. The solution
I worked with Kevin to design both a logo and a website which were literary but not stuffy. A book with a mouse for a bookmark nailed this concept, and we put together a bright, cheery website around it. The project is still gaining steam, featuring a new author every month or so. Kevin is almost single-handedly changing the way books are promoted, and I'm proud to have been a part of it. The tools
